Due to Loki’s part in Höðr’s murder of Baldr, Loki indirectly caused the creation of Váli, for which Váli is eternally grateful.

Váli stays out of his brothers’ arguments, whether petty or world-threatening. He has, in the past, been the peacekeeper to the smaller disagreements, however he never takes a side.

He sympathises with Loki’s need to feel equal, as
Váli has never felt equal either.

His main priority is his family. He has a son, 15, called Eric. A daughter, 8, called Kari and his wife is expecting another child, whom they’ll call Oliver.

He still uses formal language when talking to Asgardians, though he has almost lost his formal vernacular when talking to anyone else.

He is reluctant to visit Asgard, though will do so on request.
